If you haven’t heard of The Shack, there’ a lot of buzz about it going around. It’s getting amazing reviews on Amazon. 23 out of 25 were five stars.
Raquel has the brilliant idea of doing a collaborative book review. She invited Jeromy, Nicole and myself to join in on this fabulous process. The idea was to work through the book together, much like a book club and discuss the contents of the book. The four of us will create post that hopefully will engage dialog and enriching conversation.
We invite you to join us. You can find the first chapter online here.
A friend of mind bought “The Shack” and starting reading it and began to talk of it. I had not heard of it. After she read it she passed it on me. As a mother of a son who died almost 10 years ago I found myself relating to Mack’s pain. I also found the depiction of Father, son and holy spirit fasinating. I am a strong believer that when God wants our attention he will do what needs to be done to get it. He knows no limitations and he does not have to be conventional or politically correct so to speak because he is always correct. Different people need different things and because He is all, he will do it in the way best for each of us. I plan to re-read the book to get what I missed the first time around.
In the acknowledgements section of the book they mention Anna Rice for for loving this story and penetrating it with her music. I was just wondering was a song she wrote for this.
Please let me know if anyone has any info on this because after reading the book I have dicided to give it as a christmas present to four sisters that mean very much to me I would love to enclude soom music with it.
Thanks
Lea
The shack was a real uplifting book. I expecially liked the part where Mack waled on water.
